A farmers field in a bag!
A growbag is a bigger better system for growing your own food on a balcony or in a small yard.
With a rich growing medium chock full of yummy organic nourishment that will make plants happy and last the season.
My thinking is that a growbag is easier to manage for those with a busy life. Being light coloured plastic, it stays cool and promotes less watering, unlike black pots which often require two waterings a day in summer on hot days. I don't like black pots especially, since the water drains too quickly and they heat up. Transferring soil is a hassle (makes a mess), as is storing half-used bags when you live in a small place.

As Britta Riley said from the Window farms project in New York, "Growing some of our own food is a simple pleasure that can make a big difference in our relationship with nature."
Fresh food tastes better too. Its satisfying to be able to grab some herbs or a "Drunken Woman" lettuce, just like those posh chefs (you know them ...!), who run out and grab stuff before making a meal. The sooner you eat after harvesting the healthier for you and getting it locally impacts the environment less (less packaging, transportation and cooling).
The 100-inch Diet!
Go one better than the Hundred Mile Diet, how about the 100 incher??
Simply cut squares out of the face of a bag, plant up and soon you'll have a community garden for ONE! Start urban farming with a growbag - no tractor required.
!Note. Tomatoes will, however, require regular feeding once large.
